Personal Impressions
"Thought provoking."
"An event that will enhance your skills and make you a better person."
"It was a real challenge. At times highly charged, at times funny, at times sad. You will only get out of it what you put in. The learning process is ongoing. A very extraordinary experience."
"An experience with the ability to change your reality forever.”"
"It has allowed me to understand others and their opinions, thoughts, fears. I have taken time to reflect on myself and my values"
"I was sure that the term "course" was an inadequate word for it – even "experience" did not describe what it was all about. I realised that there had been a change for the better and believe that this is but a mere first step to an exciting journey ahead." Frank Borrie, London Fire Brigade
"The VCL course changed my life! I'm still the same person that I was before but now I'm so much more me! I've been able to let go of so many trivial things that were pulling me down. I've become so much more positive, inspired, happier, serene and able to value and appreciate people and life in a whole new way. I've learned the value of emotional intelligence and I can see the effect this has on people around me. To sum up the whole experience - "Wow!!"." Vivienne Borrie, London Fire Brigade
"The VCL course made me realise that I was not alone in my outlook
towards life and people, and in so doing so it empowered me to believe
in what I always knew in my heart was the right way to be, and gave me
the courage not only to be it but to walk the walk as well." Steve
Taylor, London Fire Brigade
Some people have been moved to express their thoughts in poems. These are some that we hope you enjoy:
What are values?
Values shine out where there is darkness.
Values show truth in a confusion of lies.
Values encourage where some are scared.
Values rebuild what has been broken.
Values remain steady while all around changes.
Values offer a refuge for those who need comfort.
Values are authority used wisely...
Am I leading by example?

I live my values like a flower
When I start to grow I see all flowers growing around me.
I stand here so pretty saying, "Come talk to me."
And the bees they come and go, taking all they need.
People come and look at me, some smile, some frown,
But I'm thinking, "Don't pick me yet, I haven't finished growing."
And when I'm ready, I reflect on my day, my week, my year, my life,
And then I think, "What flower shall I be next?"

That's Life
Like the flowers that bloom in spring
Life's the same as that same thing.
Every day set new goals,
From time to time you see them unfold.
Life's too short to dwell on gloom
And like the flowers that bloom in spring
Ensure each day you let your heart sing.
I love my life and the beauty in exposes
Even the pain and sorrow it transposes.
Life is great - it's what you make it.
Take my advice and really embrace it.

A true leader listens without judging, inspires without demanding, praises without patronising and asks only, in return, that people stretch themselves to achieve their best.

There was a young fella called Lee,
Who thought VCL was about hugging trees,
But then he met Heather, it was nice sunny weather,
And Blimey!, he's really at ease.
He thought about what he had done,
His Wife, his Daughter and Son,
And what he would say about the three days,
And decided it would naturally come.
There are some things he needs to resolve,
Things from the past that are old,
There's bridges to build, and journeys to come,
Not all at once, one by one.
He's decided that from now on,
He won't try to hide his emotion,
A time and a place to try to save face?
No. Life isn't life without some.....
Risk.
